WHY AREN'T CLASSES CALLED ENGLISH I, II, III, OR IV ANYMORE?
The English Department is pleased to announce that they have redesigned curriculum for grades 9-12 to align with the Common Core State Standards. They have also designed two new classes to better accommodate the needs of our students. To accompany our curriculum redesign, we have changed the titles of our core English classes. The new appellations will appear on transcripts effective immediately. Please note the changes:
- Survey of Literature & Composition(formerly English 1)
- World Literature & Composition (formerly English 2)
- American Literature & Composition (formerly English 3)
- British Literature & Composition (formerly English 4)
- Foundations of Literature: A skills class implemented to address our students who would benefit from extra assistance with reading and writing.
